Joining Forces With Project Seagrass
Of all the wellbeing terms that have popped up in recent years, one of the most interesting is ‘blue health’ - considering the benefits of blue space to people and the environment. Here at Feel Good we don’t need to research this concept to know its value to us as a company and individuals.
The core Feel Good team live on the coast, work in an office looking out to sea and head straight to the beach at the weekend. It is part of our everyday and we know how lucky we are to say that. We also know how crucial the ocean is as a planetary life support. That’s one of the reasons we have joined forces with the brilliant initiative, Project Seagrass, and are supporting their ground breaking work in marine conservation through our 3% People & Planet Fund.
Project Seagrass are committed to restoring biodiversity and lost ecosystems that absorb high levels of carbon. One of their key aims is to protect and encourage seagrass growth. Since 1980 we have lost over 35% of our seagrass meadows, which works out at 2 football fields an hour. This is the same as coral reefs and rainforests, but the seagrass plight is often ignored, creating serious repercussions for our climate, wildlife and communities.
Over the coming months we will be shining a light on the strides Project Seagrass are making, update you on our collaboration and invite them as guest speakers here on our blog. As they say, saving seagrass means saving our seas. We can’t think of a better fight to join.
